Avenue des Champs Elysees

Champs Elysees Avenue, the world's most famous and beautiful avenue, is situated in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. It is 70 meters wide and is 1.9 Kilometer long. The Champs Elysees Avenue is mostly known for its luxury shops, restaurants, and coffee bars but also famous for The Bastille Day Parade on the 14th of July which is known as Fête Nationale Française.

According to Greek Methodology, Champs Elysees means Elysian Fields or the Fields of Heaven — The resting place of Greek gods and dead heroes!

The Champs Elysees Avenue was extended in 1724 and the second time in 1994 both side streets walking paths were developed for tourists to enjoy the beauty of the avenue, shopping, and other activities. Champs Elysees Avenue receives nearly 300000 people each day, therefore there are more new developments are in process to meet future’s need.

Arc de Triomphe

Arc de Triomphe is one of the national monuments with a strong history. It is also one of the most famous visiting moments in Paris, situated in the world's most visited and beautiful — Avenue Champs Elysee. In 1806 Napoleon 1 ordered to build this beautiful Arc de Triomphe monument, in honour and victories, achieved by the French Army. According to 2018 statistics, Arc de Triomphe was the most visited national monument with 7.2 million visitors.

Arc de Triomphe is an iconic monument in the middle of Paris and gives a 360-degree panoramic view of the city. Its height is 162 ft, width is 150 ft and 72 ft deep.

Charles de Gaulle — Étoile


Place Charles de Gaulle is also known as Place de l’Étoile which is the meeting point of 12 large avenues including Champs Elysees avenue at one single point.

This place was renamed in 1970, after the death of French president Charles de Gaulle but before it was known as Place de E’Etoile or in English known as Square of Stars but nowadays RER-A station is named as Charles de Gaulle-Etoile. Place Charles de Gaulle and Arc de Triomphe is connected with the 8th, 16th and 17th arrondissements of Paris.

Charles André Joseph Marie de Gaulle was a French army officer and statesman who led the French Resistance against Nazi Germany in World War II and chaired the Provisional Government of the French Republic from 1944 to 1946 in order to reestablish democracy in France.

Arcades des Champs Elysees

Les Arcades des Champs Elysees or Arcades du Lido is a magnificent shopping gallery located at the world's most beautiful avenue. It was inaugurated in 1926, in the following trend of building beautiful fashion galleries and passages. In 1928 this place was serving as a salon and swimming pool but later in 1946, it became a place to serve food and coffee.

Arcades du Lido opened on June 20, 1946. Le Lido was preceded by an artificial beach in a townhouse basement in the 1920s, running as a nightclub/casino in the late night hours.

❝ Basically, this was Leonard Rosenthal’s idea to develop a passage couvert, who was a diamond merchant, property developer and a French businessman❞


Galerie des Champs-Elysees

The most elegant shopping gallery of Paris, Galerie des Champs-Elysees is located in the most prestigious location, 82–88 Avenue des Champs Elysees in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. It hosts numerous luxury boutiques, well-known clothing brands and restaurants i.e H&M, Promod, Etam, L’Occitane, Paul, Minelli and Mcdonald’s.

Galerie des Champs-Elysees was built in 1926 by architects Charles Lefèbvre, Marcel Julien and Louis Duhayon. The main entrance of gallery is Avenue des Champs Elysees and end at Rue de Ponthieu.
